Job Overview
Applications are invited for a Specialty Doctor post (SAS) in Radiology at Croydon University Hospital. The post will be for a period of 12 months and may be converted to permanent if the post holder is suitable.
Responsibilities
- Support the general radiology workload, including ultrasound, CT and plain film reporting.
- Encourage reporting of MRI and pursue a subspecialty interest, with guidance available.
- Attend multidisciplinary team meetings and in‑house teaching.
- Assist in diagnostic queries and support consultant radiologists.
- Possibly undertake weekend or extended day work if time off during the week is required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Prior experience working in the NHS is mandatory.
- Specialty doctor in radiology, with appropriate post‑training experience.
Working Hours and On‑Call
No on‑call commitment.
Remuneration and Benefits
- Full‑time posts remunerated at 10 PAs, part‑time posts pro rata.
- Salary scale: £59,175 – £95,400 per annum depending on years of post‑training radiology experience.
- Additional Outer London Weighting allowance (approximately amount unspecified).
- Training with a support activity session included in the job plan.
- Opportunity to attend multidisciplinary team meetings and in‑house teaching.
- Support for CESR applications and research opportunities.
Department Equipment
Radiology Department undergoing significant investment in new equipment, including 11 new ultrasound units, a Cone Beam CT dental unit, four plain X‑ray rooms and a CT replacement all occurring this year.
