Role Summary
The post holder will provide effective clinical leadership to ensure all nursing staff receive the appropriate supervision and support, and to establish and maintain team systems and processes for effective operation of the team. The role includes ensuring compliance with Key Performance Indicators, building strong links with patients and carers, and acting as an excellent role model for all staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support nursing staff and oversee their professional development plans.
- Establish and maintain team systems and processes for efficient operation.
- Ensure compliance with achievement of Key Performance Indicators.
- Build strong links with patients and carers and involve them in care delivery.
- Act as a role model and mentor, supporting training and development of staff.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle competing demands to meet deadlines.
- Lead quality care delivery and service improvement initiatives.
- Provide effective support and supervision to manage high‑risk patients.
- Work independently, demonstrating initiative and mature judgement.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Previous leadership or managerial experience within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to act as a positive role model.
- Excellent communication skills and interpersonal awareness.
- Knowledge and skills in caring for the physical and mental health needs of a vulnerable patient group.
- Proven record of leading quality care and service improvement.
- Ability to maintain a calm, friendly and efficient manner when dealing with service users, relatives, colleagues and visitors.
- Car driver essential, or access to a car (unless a disability within the Disability Discrimination Act 2010 applies).
