An exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic doctor to join the Obstetrics and Gynaecology team as a specialist Trust Doctor at Barts Health NHS Trust for 1 year.
The post will be based at The Whipps Cross University Hospital. This is a non‑training post but will provide valuable experience in maternal‑fetal medicine and high‑risk obstetrics for those wishing to secure future posts, including at consultant level for applicants who already hold CCT.
Individuals will require full GMC registration and should be post MRCOG. The role is aimed at UK or overseas trainee obstetricians at ST 5+ level or above. It includes an out‑of‑hours component, acting as a senior registrar with responsibility for supervising a more junior SpR on the delivery suite and covering gynaecology emergencies.
Post holders will have opportunities to work with the gynaecology oncology team in outpatient clinics and theatre. Training will cover the management of gynaecological cancers, hysteroscopy and vulval disease, with regular theatre sessions and the chance to undertake the gynaecology oncology ATSM. Successful candidates will be encouraged to participate in teaching, research, audit and journal club.
