At Freshfields, technology plays a critical role in supporting a truly global law firm. We’re looking for a ServiceNow Engineer to join our Technology team in Manchester and help shape, enhance and support a mature and business‑critical ServiceNow platform.
This is an opportunity to work in a collaborative, people‑first environment where your ideas matter, your development is supported, and your work has real impact across the firm.
What you’ll be doing
As a ServiceNow Engineer, you’ll work closely with engineers, product owners and stakeholders across the business to deliver high‑quality, scalable ServiceNow solutions.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing, configuring and enhancing ServiceNow solutions across core modules such as ITSM, Service Catalogue, HR, ITOM and App Engine
- Supporting platform integrations and automation initiatives (including tools such as Microsoft Teams)
- Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, contributing to incident and problem resolution
- Maintaining clear technical documentation and supporting knowledge sharing
- Contributing to continuous improvement of the ServiceNow platform, roadmap and upgrade strategy
- Working collaboratively in an agile, delivery‑focused environment
What you’ll bring
We’re open to a range of backgrounds, but you’ll ideally have:
- Hands‑on experience working with the ServiceNow platform in an engineering or development capacity
- A solid understanding of ITSM processes and the ITIL framework
- Experience configuring workflows, forms, business rules and integrations
- Familiarity with modern development practices and tools (e.g. Azure DevOps)
- Strong communication skills and confidence working with technical and non‑technical stakeholders
- A proactive, detail‑oriented and service‑focused mindset
ServiceNow certifications (CSA and/or CAD) and ITIL certification are advantageous, but not essential.
- Be part of a global, forward‑thinking organisation where technology, data and innovation are taken seriously
- Work in a supportive, inclusive culture that values collaboration, curiosity and continuous learning
- Hybrid working model with 2 days per week in our Manchester office
- Access to professional development, learning resources and certification support
- The chance to work on enterprise‑scale ServiceNow solutions that make a real difference to how the firm operates
If you’re passionate about ServiceNow and want to grow your career in a collaborative, people‑centred environment, we’d love to hear from you.
Apply now and help shape the future of ServiceNow at Freshfields.
Inclusion
Freshfields is an equal opportunities employer and all applications received by the firm will be considered by the firm on the basis of their merit alone and we welcome applications from all suitably qualified individuals regardless of background. All offers of employment will be conditional on the candidate having/securing the right to work in the UK and providing the firm with evidence of that right (as required by the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006) prior to employment commencing.
Freshfields is a Ban the Box employer. We ask applicants to disclose criminal convictions only when a conditional job offer is made. A conviction does not automatically lead to withdrawal of the offer: we make decisions on a case by case basis and take a number of factors into account (eg the role you are applying for and the circumstances of the offence). You would have the opportunity to discuss the matter with us before we make a decision.
