What you will be doing

We are looking for a qualified Site Service Shift Engineer to join our team within our highly successful UK team based at Manchester Airport. Reporting to the Field Services Area Manager, you will support on‑site installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of airport security systems at our client site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Under limited supervision, perform a wide variety of technical support activities by installing, troubleshooting, maintaining and servicing X‑ray and CT based security systems at customer sites.
  • Coordinate planning and delivery of preventative maintenance (PM) services for various types of security search equipment.
  • Provide installation, calibration, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting and repair of X‑ray and CT based security systems.
  • Conduct formal and informal training courses for customer personnel on operation and maintenance of systems and equipment.
  • Communicate with customers via phone or in person to identify operations or technical problems, respond to complaints and questions until resolved.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose system/equipment interface problems during installations.
  • Educate customers on full capabilities of equipment and advise on equipment changes and authorized modifications.
  • Maintain Salesforce or similar CRM software, completing admin tasks to required deadlines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and provide support to the customer by installing, calibrating, maintaining, testing, troubleshooting and repairing X‑ray and CT based security systems of a highly complex nature.
  • Prepare and conduct formal and informal training courses for customer personnel.
  • Work with customer via phone or in person to identify operations/technical problems and respond until resolved.
  • Diagnose system/equipment interface problems during installations.
  • Acquaint customer personnel with full capabilities of equipment and systems for immediate operational requirements.
  • Advise customer of all equipment changes and authorized modifications.Proficient at Salesforce or similar CRM software, completing admin to required deadlines.

Education and/or Experience

  • Graduate of technical school or military training in electronics engineering technology is highly desirable.
  • Solid experience working successfully within a site or field service environment within a directly applicable industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge of X‑ray, CT technologies and company’s products and equipment.

Other Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent customer interface, presentation and communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Knowledge of complex digital and analog circuitry required, Linux a plus.
  • Knowledge of complex mechanical systems, familiarity with test equipment (DVM and oscilloscope) and experience with high voltage and X‑ray producing equipment preferred.
  • Team player with ability to prioritize and work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment with minimal oversight.
  • Ability to perform multiple activities simultaneously and independently.
  • May be required from time to time to lift heavy weights.
  • Previous experience in one or more of the following areas: security and detection systems, aviation, operating in a global environment.

Location: Based in Stansted, UK, in commuting distance.

Eligibility: To be considered for this role, you must be a UK or EU national, eligible to live and work in the United Kingdom. Relocation is not available for this role.

Pay Range
