Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Job Title: Mechanical Maintenance Engineer – Rotating shifts

Location: Doncaster area, good A1 and M18 access

Shift Pattern: 8‑hour rotating pattern (12‑hour shifts may occur), Monday to Friday, weekend overtime available

Pay: £46,000 plus Package Plus 5% Bonus OTE; total potential £50,000+

Contract Type: Permanent

Key Responsibilities

• Provide effective and efficient planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance to minimise production losses.
• Ensure continuous operation of the production process by eliminating downtime through safe fault‑finding and maintenance of process and packaging equipment.
• Perform planned and reactive maintenance to keep downtime to a minimum.
• Work with conveyor systems, hoppers, solos, conveyors and material handling equipment.
• Lead mechanical repairs and coordinate with CMMS.
• Diagnose, resolve, and eliminate root causes.
• Implement minor equipment modifications to improve performance.
• Complete all scheduled, planned corrective, reactive and improvement maintenance as allocated.
• Contribute to planning and execution of allocated annual equipment overhauls.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Apprentice trained or NVQ Level 3 in a mechanical engineering discipline focused on maintenance engineering.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment – heavy, medium or FMCG – is considered.
• Understanding of a preventive maintenance schedule and the ability to carry out routine preventive maintenance.
• Proficiency in fault finding and a proactive approach to maintenance.
• Basic welding and fabrication skills are advantageous.
