Job Description:

Job Summary: Design, develop, coordinate manufacture, implement, and support in operation a range of final product functional test solutions. The position is based in Stafford, UK, with potential overseas travel and future leadership development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Specify, design, and implement robust, cost‑effective production test solutions covering Module, Product, and HV Test.
  • Design test solutions at both hardware and software levels, including design for test evaluation and reporting.
  • Support outsourcing partners and collaborate with Test Solution Providers throughout project life‑cycle.
  • Generate and maintain technical files, operating instructions, and support documentation.
  • Conduct risk assessments, commissioning, and provide test operator training.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental legislation (including WEEE, RoHS, REACH) and support internal audits.
  • Interface with R&D, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Quality, Outsourcing partners, Approval Laboratories, and Prototype Cell.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent HNC/D, with substantial practical experience; degree may be waived if experience is significant.
  • Proficient in LabVIEW, Python, and test stand software.
  • Experience developing module and product test solutions, including bespoke hardware and software equipment.
  • Experience with safety‑critical test solutions and knowledge of electronic circuitry.
  • Familiarity with FMEA, design for manufacture, and design for test philosophies.
  • Knowledge of WEEE, RoHS, and REACH legislation.

Desirable Experience

  • Knowledge of the electrical transmission & distribution industry.
  • Experience with CAD packages and mechanical drawing creation.

Personal Skills

  • Excellent organisational, communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Self‑motivated, able to work autonomously, and capable of training others.
  • Fluency in English.
