Overview

The Construction Delivery Manager will support the delivery of an area within a specific section of the Works at Hinkley Point C (HPC). The role reports to the Senior Construction Delivery Manager and covers all construction and related activities, including logistics planning, programming, monitoring, and client liaison.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support contract partners in delivering their work packages to enable efficient completion of their sections of works.
  • Recommend and implement temporary measures to mitigate safety and quality concerns.
  • Take appropriate action, such as issuing communications or convening meetings, to prevent work cessation, and conduct document reviews and assurance audits where required.
  • Monitor on‑site work and contribute to the construction daily report, ensuring information is escalated to the Senior Construction Delivery Manager and that issues are reported through detailed documentation.
  • Communicate proactively and coordinate with other site teams (Health & Safety, contracts, project controls, logistics) and Construction Delivery Managers to maintain strong communication links and ensure timely reporting.
  • Attend pre‑start briefings and support delivery of key messages to contractor organisations.
  • Participate in PLOD/PLOW meetings with contractors, record outputs, and issue them to the Senior Construction Delivery Manager.
  • Conduct safety and assurance inspections that support the project’s Health, Safety and Performance Improvements (HSPIs).
  • Maintain clear, two‑way communication with the Senior Construction Delivery Manager so that all activities and issues are directed appropriately.

Education, Experience and Skills

  • Experience and knowledge of construction sequencing, recovery plans and resource allocation.
  • Good understanding of the postholder’s obligations under CDM Regulations.
  • Working knowledge of project delivery.
  • Ability to write concise, informative reports.
  • Motivate and energise contract partners, building a climate of trust and encouraging alternative views.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent vocational training and experience.
  • SMSTS or IOSH qualification holder.
