We are looking for an experienced Information Governance Officer to join our dedicated team. You will play a key role in ensuring the Trust meets its data protection, confidentiality, and information security obligations by advising staff on best practices, supporting Freedom of Information, Subject Access Requests, completing Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and Document Security and Planning Team (DSPT)/Clinical Audit Framework (CAF).
Responsibilities
- Advise staff on IG best practices and statutory data protection obligations.
- Support Freedom of Information and Subject Access Requests processes.
- Lead the completion of DPIAs and DSPT/CAF activities.
- Provide training sessions and communications on confidentiality and record access.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including patients, staff, health care providers, police and third parties.
- Maintain knowledge of Data Protection Legislation, Freedom of Information Act, Environmental Information Regulations and document control procedures.
- Support the roll out of the Trust Document Control Programme and liaise with key stakeholder managers.
- Provide statistical information and monthly reports for the Information Governance Manager.
Qualifications
- Previous working knowledge and experience in Data Protection, Information Governance, and GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to work with a range of stakeholders.
- Team working ability and experience of cross‑organisational collaboration.
- Excellent project management technique and statistical analysis skills for monitoring compliance.
- Knowledge of Statutory Records Management Control procedures and NHS guidance.
