Overview

An opportunity has arisen to join our newly expanding, Doncaster Place based Infection Prevention & Control Team. This post works across organisational boundaries to achieve our ambition of reducing avoidable infections as a system within the borough of Doncaster, putting the patient at the centre of all that we do.

Key Responsibilities

The role includes staff education, promoting good infection control standards, audits and feedback of results, responding to outbreaks, and supporting Quality Improvement initiatives. As an Infection Prevention and Control Specialist Nurse you will provide specialist guidance for staff delivering clinical and strategic infection prevention programmes, deliver IPC services across the Acute Trust and community social care services, and support the training and development of systems to improve the quality of IPC management through delivery of national directives and development of local quality, patient safety and safe systems of working for staff.

Qualifications and Experience

• Sound clinical nursing skills.• Understanding of basic principles of infection control.• Ability and drive to empower and facilitate effective infection control practice.• Self‑motivated, kind and compassionate approach to patient care.
