Key Responsibilities
- Business Strategy Alignment: Analyse clients’ business strategy and objectives, identify critical success factors and areas where IT can contribute.
- IT Infrastructure and Systems: Evaluate existing IT infrastructure, assess effectiveness, identify areas for improvement.
- Enterprise Architecture Modelling: Develop and maintain comprehensive enterprise architecture models representing IT landscapes, including business processes, data flows, and technology components.
- IT Strategy and Roadmap: Formulate long‑term IT strategies that align with business goals, outline future investments, initiatives, and technology adoption plans.
- Project Governance and Oversight: Guide and oversee IT projects to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and business objectives.
- Innovation and Technology Assessment: Stay abreast of emerging technologies, evaluate their potential impact and recommend appropriate adoption strategies.
- Communication and Stakeholder Management: Communicate effectively with stakeholders across all levels of the client organization.
- Risk Management and Compliance: Identify and assess IT‑related risks, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and standards.
- Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate and enhance IT architectures to keep them aligned with evolving business needs.
Requirements
- Degree qualified in a relevant discipline (Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems) or equivalent experience.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to produce high‑quality technical documentation for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Experience leading, mentoring and collaborating within high‑performing teams.
- Experience working within the UK MOD or Critical National Infrastructure.
- At least 5 years’ experience on Defence or CNI IT systems.
Desirable Qualifications / Frameworks
- TOGAF 9 / Unified Architecture Framework
- Open Group Certified Architect (Open CA)
- ArchiMate Certified Expert
- IT4IT Foundation
- Certified Solution Architect: AWS or Azure
