Principal Mechanical Engineer

The Role

As Principal Mechanical Engineer, you will take a leading role in the design, coordination, and delivery of mechanical engineering solutions across a variety of major projects. Responsibilities will include:

• Leading mechanical design and engineering activities across multiple projects
• Providing technical guidance and oversight to project teams
• Reviewing and approving calculations, specifications, and technical documentation
• Supporting project delivery to ensure quality, programme, and budget targets are achieved
• Coordinating with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams
• Mentoring and developing junior engineers within the business
• Supporting business development and contributing to technical excellence initiatives

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience operating at Senior or Principal Mechanical Engineer level
• Strong background within infrastructure, water, utilities, construction, or related sectors
• Experience managing mechanical design and project delivery
• Excellent technical, communication, and leadership skills
• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership preferred
• Strong understanding of relevant industry standards and regulations
