Description
We’re looking for a Senior Sales Engineer to support the accelerating global demand for Matterport’s platform and solutions. The role provides strategic, technical leadership, serves as a trusted advisor to customers and internal sales leadership, and influences product and go‑to‑market strategy.
Responsibilities
- Enterprise & Strategic Technical Leadership: Serve as the primary technical authority for complex, high‑value sales opportunities and advise executive‑level stakeholders on architecture, security, integrations, and strategy.
- Advanced Solution Architecture: Define and lead custom integrations, proof‑of‑concept engagements, and solution pipelines for ambiguous, multi‑system customer requirements.
- Technical Standards & Demonstrations: Set standards for demos, pilots, and solution validations across Sales Engineering.
- Complex Technical Challenges: Own and resolve high‑risk technical issues with impact on revenue and customer trust.
- Thought Leadership: Establish best practices, methodologies, and technical frameworks for the broader team; influence company‑wide technical selling strategy.
- Cross‑Functional Insight: Provide field insight to Product, Marketing, Security, and R&D, translating customer needs into product road‑map recommendations.
- Enablement & Mentorship: Design and deliver training programs; mentor junior and mid‑level Sales Engineers.
- Security & Risk Leadership: Lead enterprise‑level security, privacy, and compliance discussions; act as escalation point for security inquiries.
- External Representation: Represent Matterport as a technical thought leader at industry events, webinars, and conferences; influence partner integration strategies.
- Leadership Continuity: Provide coverage and decision‑making support during manager absences; coordinate complex initiatives without formal people‑management duties.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- In‑depth experience supporting B2B SaaS solutions in pre‑sales or technical consulting roles with enterprise‑level impact.
- Proven long‑term commitment and progression within prior organizations.
- Exceptional executive‑level communication and influence skills across functions and seniority.
- Hands‑on experience with APIs, SDKs, and prototyping using JavaScript, GraphQL, and other technologies.
- Advanced understanding of 3D data types (models, point clouds, imagery) and spatial data workflows.
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms, security architecture, authentication (AWS, SAML, OAuth).
- Understanding of machine learning and AI concepts as applied to data‑driven products.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% as required by business needs.
- English proficiency required; French or German preferred; Spanish or Italian advantageous.
Preferred Qualifications
- Extensive expertise in reality capture technologies and the competitive landscape.
- Deep knowledge of the Matterport platform, ecosystem integrations, and partner offerings.
- Advanced familiarity with 3D modelling, visualization, and construction/engineering platforms (Autodesk, SketchUp, Procore, PlanGrid, Unity, Unreal Engine).
- Experience shaping technical strategy for large partners or enterprise customers.
- Recognised externally or internally as a subject‑matter expert in spatial data or related technologies.
