West One is looking for a highly capable and motivated individual to join their development finance team as a Lending Director in Manchester.
The successful individual will join a well-established development finance lender where they will be responsible for originating development finance facilities as well as managing the portfolio of loans they originate.
This role would suit a high‐performing individual with previous development finance experience in either a bank or non‑bank lending business.
Key Accountabilities
- Generating new development finance opportunities by building new relationships and managing existing relationships with developers, broker/intermediaries and property professionals.
- Originating and structuring development finance opportunities that the candidate generates.
- Managing the underwriting and credit process of completing new development finance opportunities.
- Managing the drawdowns and redemptions of the facilities that are originated, ensuring that the portfolio of loans consistently performs.
- Responsible for growing or managing a team around the candidate to assist in hitting proposed origination targets and effectively managing the portfolio of loans.

Skills & Competencies
- Strong established track record of originating development finance opportunities and managing a portfolio of loans.
- Excellent communication skills for dealing with borrowers and brokers/intermediaries.
- Ability to present credit papers to the credit committee and senior management.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment dealing with a wide range of stakeholders.
Knowledge & Qualifications
- Knowledge in reviewing development appraisals and structuring development finance facilities.
- Knowledge of the credit underwriting process, including the legal process, reviewing valuation and monitoring surveyor reports.
