Overview

For a Compliance Officer / Head of Compliance role in a Financial Services company based in London. It is a FinTech unicorn with the goal of enabling clients to sell anywhere in the world by reinventing the financial services market for global cross-border eCommerce merchants.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out the FCA-described regulatory tasks and represent the organisation in regulatory situations.

Qualifications

  • A graduate degree in law, finance, or a related discipline.
  • Certifications from ICA or ACAMS are advantageous.
  • Have worked in a similar capacity for at least five years in a FinTech, payment, or electronic money institution.
  • Capable of carrying out the demands of the FCA’s SMF 16 and SMF 17 regulatory functions.
  • Have a thorough understanding of and practical expertise with U.K. and E.U. legislation, especially those relating to data protection and AML/CFT standards in the aforementioned industry.
  • Familiar with EU banking standards such as GDPR, AML4, and PSD2.
  • An outstanding communicator who can clearly and simply convey complicated ideas.
  • Strong organisational, leadership, project management, and analytical skills.
  • Understanding of priorities and observance of deadlines.
  • Ability to execute, track, and manage a range of duties in a small team context while being constructive and adaptable.
  • High-caliber presenting skills for the workplace, including strong writing and public speaking talents.
  • English fluency is necessary; Chinese proficiency is a plus.
  • High ethical standards, as well as a strong sense of confidentiality and transparency.
  • A self-starter who can thrive in stressful circumstances.
  • Autonomous and sensible with good judgement.
