Job Description Purpose of the Role
To design, develop, implement, and maintain various statistical, mathematical and machine learning models to support decision‑making by analysis and solve complex problems.
Accountabilities
- Acquire and collect data from various sources, including internal databases, external datasets and real‑time feeds.
- Perform data cleaning and pre‑processing tasks to ensure data quality and suitability for model development.
- Design and implement data management strategies for model maintenance and future development.
- Design, develop and implement statistical and machine learning models for applications such as credit risk assessment, fraud detection, customer segmentation and marketing optimisation.
- Monitor model performance in real‑time and identify potential issues or biases.
- Lead training, mentoring and knowledge‑sharing sessions to uplift ML capability across the organisation.
- Evaluate and pilot emerging technologies, tools and frameworks to keep the organisation at the forefront of AI innovation.

Skills & Qualifications
- Proficiency in Python and SQL with a strong understanding of data analytics and dashboards.
- Hands‑on expertise in transaction monitoring financial crime analytics tasks.
- Ability to prepare and present reports for analysis and risk outcomes effectively.
- Knowledge of risk coverage related to money laundering and terrorist financing.
- Familiarity with the current regulatory landscape within financial crime compliance.
- Background in mathematics or statistics, including probability, machine learning and AI.
- Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, digital and technology skills, and risk and controls knowledge.
