Job Overview
The Automation & Finance Systems Manager (Tax) based in London/Cambridge hybrid role reports to the International Tax Director. Responsibilities include managing process automation, system and data management, reporting and analytics, stakeholder collaboration and governance.
Responsibilities
- Lead process automation initiatives using Power Automate, Power Query, Alteryx, UIPath, Python or similar tools; design, build, test and maintain automated solutions.
- Perform risk assessments for new tax processes, support configuration and maintenance of tax‑relevant systems (ERP modules, tax determination engines, consolidation systems, reporting tools).
- Develop and maintain data pipelines, troubleshoot data issues and conduct root‑cause analysis.
- Build dashboards and automated reports (Power BI, Tableau) to provide proactive tax intelligence and support compliance, audit, provision and management reporting.
- Collaborate with Tax, Finance, Accounting and IT teams to translate business requirements into clear technical specifications and deliver solutions.
- Lead data governance, design controls, document procedures, and support audits or reviews.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with financial systems such as SAP, Oracle, Workday or equivalent ERP/reporting tools.
- Strong process automation skills using Power Query, Power Automate, Alteryx, UIPath, Python or similar.
- Solid understanding of data structures, data quality, and system integrations.
- Proficiency in Power BI or another reporting/visualisation tool.
- Ability to analyse business processes and implement scalable, efficient solutions.
- Strong communication skills with non‑technical stakeholders.
- Excellent problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Preferred: experience with tax or finance functions, tax‑specific applications (ONESOURCE, Vertex, Longview, Avalara), SQL or other database tools, knowledge of financial controls and audit processes.
