Join our team as a Senior Project Engineer on the Lower Thames Crossing and be part of one of the UK’s most ambitious infrastructure projects. You’ll play a key role in supporting the delivery of the Temporary Site Services (TSS) package within a complex, high‑profile construction environment.
Working closely with the Project Manager and Senior Project Manager, you’ll help lead the coordination of site operations, logistics and engineering delivery. You’ll ensure that works are completed safely, efficiently and in line with programme, quality and commercial objectives.
This is a varied role where you’ll contribute to everything from enabling works and site logistics to sustainability initiatives, helping drive innovation and best practice across the project.
What you’ll be doing
As a Senior Project Engineer, You Will
- Support the leadership and day‑to‑day delivery of construction works within the TSS package
- Coordinate multi‑disciplinary teams, subcontractors and resources to meet programme requirements
- Support the planning and delivery of enabling works and compound setup
- Assist in managing site logistics, ensuring labour, plant and materials are effectively coordinated
- Maintain accurate site records, progress reporting and short‑term programmes
- Deliver briefings and toolbox talks, promoting engagement and team awareness
- Monitor subcontractor performance and provide support to achieve contractual outcomes
Health, Safety & Environment
- Champion a strong safety culture and support a relentless focus on Zero Harm
- Ensure compliance with HSE standards and the Construction Phase Plan
- Support safety tours, risk reviews and incident investigationsIdentify and implement improvement initiatives
Quality & Performance
- Support the delivery of KPIs and project quality objectives
- Assist with audits and ensure actions are closed out effectively
- Contribute to continuous improvement and best practice initiatives
Programme & Commercial Awareness
- Support programme planning and tracking to ensure timely delivery
- Identify risks, issues and opportunities and escalation where required
- Work closely with the commercial team to understand cost implications
- Support weekly performance and progress reviews
Sustainability & Innovation
- Contribute to sustainable construction practices, including the use of low‑emission plant and innovative technologies
- Support the integration of digital systems and efficient site operations
Who we’re looking for
You’ll Have
- Experience within a construction or civil engineering environment, supporting project delivery
- Strong coordination and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Experience working with subcontractors and multi‑disciplinary teams
- A proactive, solutions‑focused mindset with strong attention to detail
- The ability to communicate effectively at all levels
