Overview

Embark on a transformative journey as a Workday Specialist (HCM Consultant) AVP at Barclays, where you will lead the end‑to‑end technology development for defined HR Value Streams and Journeys within the Global HR Technology service provision.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and improve software using industry‑aligned programming languages, frameworks and tools.
  • Ensure code is scalable, maintainable and optimized for performance.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies and ensure seamless integration with business objectives.
  • Participate in code reviews and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations, actively contributing to the organization’s technology communities.
  • Adhere to secure coding practices and mitigate vulnerabilities to protect sensitive data.
  • Implement effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability and reliability.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience training and implementing changes within Workday.
  • Knowledge of business processes of Workday modules across Core HR.
  • Experience with Workday configuration and using Workday HCM (employee lifecycle).
  • Knowledge and experience with Workday Core (core components of the system).
  • Talent development experience.
  • Key critical skills: risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, digital and technology proficiency.

Location

This role will be based in Glasgow or London.
