Position Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Personal Assistant to the Rural General Hospital Manager within Lorn & Islands Hospital. The post is a key support role and will contribute to the delivery of services within the Rural General Hospital. It will ensure the effective management of the office of the Rural General Hospital Manager and will require you to be an individual with excellent organisational, administrative and communication skills. In this vibrant environment we are looking for someone who is able to use their own initiative, be responsive and forward‑thinking and have excellent interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
- Support the Rural General Hospital Manager with day‑to‑day office management, scheduling, correspondence and arrangements.
- Ensure efficient workflow and accurate record keeping for the Hospital Manager.
- Act as a liaison between the Manager and staff, patients, stakeholders and external agencies.
Qualifications
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, be proactive and forward‑thinking.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and a respectful approach in a healthcare setting.
Benefits
Effective from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours, with a corresponding increase in hourly rate. Applications are welcome from Gaelic speakers.
