Role Summary
Senior Consultant Client Director responsible for strategic commercial development and operational leadership of client relationships and service solutions. The role involves representing administration services, serving as a senior adviser and utilizing deep understanding of the pensions landscape to offer strategic solutions to clients and trustees around relevant schemes. This senior leadership position operates within the Leatherhead Portfolio, deputising for the Portfolio Owner and playing a key role in the commercial and operational success of the division. The position is hybrid, working from the Aptia office in Leatherhead and from a home address.
Responsibilities
- Strategic commercial development and operational leadership of client relationships and service solutions for an agreed portfolio of large clients.
- Provide consulting and advisory services to clients and trustees around the UK pensions landscape and appropriate service options for their schemes.
- Oversee day‑to‑day client and operational activities of accounts, based on an agreed set of KPIs.
- Understand and meet client needs effectively, managing risks and adhering to procedures.
- Lead the growth of the portfolio of clients’ revenue and contribution lines aligned with internal targets set by the Client Portfolio Leader.
- Operate as a commercial lead for clients, implementing creative financial and contractual constructs as appropriate.
- Ensure client retention and avoidance of attrition.
- Ensure clients remain referenceable and client satisfaction against service parameters improves year on year.
- Lead and manage team(s) efficiently and cost‑effectively, maintaining quality service at fees that are competitive within the pensions market.
- Ensure that the quality of service provided to stakeholders is continuously high and improves year on year.
- Manage costs and provide necessary financial information for business and audits.
- Encourage mentorship and the continuous development of direct team, supporting career progression where possible.
Qualifications
- Deep UK pensions knowledge across DC, DB, and Master Trust schemes, with strong regulatory insight.
- Proven experience in pensions management, supporting both employers and trustees.
- Hands‑on operational delivery and administration expertise.
- Strong track record in leading high‑profile client accounts and driving business development.
- Skilled in consultative selling and crafting innovative client deals.
- Experience managing and collaborating with offshore teams is desirable, as is actuarial knowledge or experience.
