Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager
Location: London, Bristol, with travel to Suffolk (every 4-6 weeks) required.
Contract: Permanent, full-time.

Your Impact
As Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager you will be responsible for implementing category management strategies across Site Delivery and the broader Sizewell C (SZC) project. The role focuses on proactively developing and delivering sourcing solutions in partnership with the Civils Works Alliance (CWA), ensuring alignment with project requirements and commercial objectives.
This position leads the coordination and development of category strategies in line with the Tender Events Schedule, supporting effective framework management to drive supply base innovation, efficiency, and productivity across the programme.
Working collaboratively with cross‑functional teams – including Project Managers, Finance, and Project Controls – the Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager ensures all procurement activity is delivered in accordance with Sizewell C’s Acquire Goods and Services (AGS) processes and governance.
Managing procurements ranging from £1m to £200m, the role demands strong commercial acumen, strategic thinking, and stakeholder engagement to secure best‑value outcomes and contribute to the successful delivery of the project.
Principal Accountabilities, Activities and Decisions
- Develop and implement category management strategies based on value and complexity, through its full lifecycle, with support from multi‑disciplinary teams.
- Align strategic approaches with organisational level commitments including Net Zero Carbon and Social Value.
- Develop the appropriate category management frameworks over time to deliver the required supply base innovation and productivity performance.
- Responsible for identifying and delivering savings / efficiencies both in terms of cost and productivity.
- Contribute towards carbon reduction initiatives linked to opportunities highlighted in category strategies and through other ESG‑led workstreams.
- Line Management of Procurement Managers and assistants (where applicable), providing support, guidance and training to fulfil their roles and development of the team.
- Responsible for the development of the procurement documentation from expression of interest through to contract award.
- Investigate supplier capabilities to identify emerging developments and supplier solutions for continuous improvement.
- Ensure all activities are carried out in compliance with Sizewell C’s Acquire Goods and Services (AGS) procurement processes and procedures.
- Facilitate the implementation of strategic Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and the new Supplier Development programme to increase supplier capability and drive performance improvement throughout all project programmes.
- Work in cross functional teams, collaborating with functions such as finance, legal, operations, technical, supply chain to develop and deliver effective procurement strategies and sourcing outcomes.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience
- Extensive strategic sourcing / category management development and implementation experience across high value, complex supply chain categories.
- Experience in leading end‑to‑end procurement cycles within a regulated environment.
- Experience of developing and embedding SRM and supplier performance measurement activities.
- Strong stakeholder influencing skills across various levels of seniority.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy and adherence to governance processes.
- Good negotiating, influencing and communication skills.
- Strong inter‑personal skills and able to work within a multi‑disciplinary team.
- Strong oral and written presentation skills.

- Construction or Nuclear experience.
- NEC contract experience.
Qualifications & Experience
- Supply Chain and Procurement Degree or similar.
- MCIPS accreditation or working towards accreditation or similar.
