VMS Fleet Compliance Officer

Fixed Term Contract – Until March 2027 (potential to be extended)

Grade B – £28,598 – £34,434

Consultation grade – subject to formal evaluation under the Pay Equity Review

Working 36.5 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with legal and internal policies.
  • Maintain accurate records for vehicle maintenance, tax, licensing, and inspections.
  • Audit driver compliance including CPC, licensing, tacho use, and safety standards.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs to track operational performance.
  • Deliver targeted training sessions on compliance standards and procedures.
  • Prepare detailed reports and provide recommendations to senior management.
  • Stay up to date with legislative changes and update policies accordingly.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Relevant qualifications in auditing, transport management, or compliance (e.g., CPC).
  • Proven experience in fleet compliance, auditing, or similar roles.
  • Experience conducting operational audits and reporting findings.
  • Have a UK driving licence.

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop and monitor KPIs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in auditing and performance monitoring tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and collaboratively.
