Role Overview: Rygor Service Solutions, part of the Rygor Group, seeks an experienced VMU Manager to lead our fleet workshop division.
As a VMU Manager you will foster a positive working atmosphere, inspire your team, and oversee the success of the department. Your role is key to business success and involves communicating effectively, maintaining a positive outlook, and motivating those around you.
Responsibilities
- Plan and control workforce resource availability to meet the fleet demands of customers.
- Manage and control labour costs, including the use of third parties.
- Ensure compliance with safety audits and manage working code of practice for contractors.
- Plan facilities, bays, machines, tools, diagnostic installations, and design workplaces and processes optimally.
- Prepare planning and calculations for investments in workshops, facilities, and HR.
- Regularly review workshop service prices and adapt them to market conditions in agreement with management.
- Measure and report on daily workshop performance across retail sales, warranty, and internal contracts.
- Manage WIP and cash control.
- Recruit new staff and conduct effective inductions.
- Coach, motivate, and retain high‑quality team members.
- Define target agreements with employees and review their achievement.
Skills & Behaviours
- Qualifications – Level 3 (NVQ, City and Guilds, or IMI Qualification) in Vehicle Repair and Maintenance. Previous experience in a similar role and industry preferred.

- Communication – Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to inspire the team through engaging communication.
