Senior Systems Analyst
Location: London
Wellington Management, an independent investment management firm, is seeking a Senior Systems Analyst to support the investment and trading floor. The role involves direct interaction with Portfolio Managers, Portfolio Analysts, Research Analysts, Traders and Business Managers, providing application support, troubleshooting and enhancing proprietary systems.
Responsibilities
- Direct interaction and support of portfolio staff, troubleshooting, fixing and escalating issues to impact desks.
- Experience working in an application support team in a busy front‑office environment.
- Champion the needs of business stakeholders, act as their fiduciary and build trusted relationships.
- Provide timely status reporting, issue tracking and communication within IT and business partners.
- Adhere to SOC1 requirements, Incident/Problem Management process and ITIL documentation, including managing production incidents, escalation and root‑cause analysis.
- Develop a strong partnership with the delivery team to ensure on‑time, scalable, high‑quality business solutions.
Qualifications
- 3–7 years’ experience in an application support role within the financial services industry.
- Experience supporting Portfolio Managers and Analysts in a trade‑floor environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Self‑motivated, quick learner, able to work in a fast‑paced team.
- Experience with financial services and trading systems (e.g., Charles River IMS, Aladdin, ThinkFolio, Bloomberg, Flex Trade, FIX).
- Understanding of financial instruments (stocks, bonds, swaps, options, futures, forwards, derivatives, FX).
- Experience with advanced investment data concepts such as holdings, transactions, security master, analytics, and performance.
- Detailed knowledge of investor workflows in research/valuation, analysis and portfolio construction.
- Hands‑on SQL knowledge for data extraction and troubleshooting.
- Experience supporting critical production applications.
- Experience with AI tools such as GitHub Co‑Pilot is advantageous.
- Fellowship of the CFA Institute (Claritas Certificate, CFA Charter or progress toward one) is considered an asset.
