Holly Ward Ward is a male, 17 bedded Later Life ward based at Woodlands Hospital in Little Hulton caring for patients withd Organic Illnesses. Our patients have complex needs, and we are determined to provide the most holistic care we can for our patients, and to hopefully make their experience a more enjoyable one.
If so we are looking for a highly motivated, eactivity worker, with a passion for working with Older Adults with Mental Health issues. As the ideal candidate for this post, you would be a committed and highly competent worker who is looking for a new challenge and seeking an opportunity to make a real difference to patients and carers. You must have excellent communication skills and the ability to work under pressure on a busy, inpatient ward.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide Support, give Time to an allocated group of service users and promote their Recovery. To assist the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) in the care planning process.
To be able to engage with service users in a positive and professional manner. The post will fulfil a key role in implementing discharge plans, as well as planning safe and therapeutic activities in the community aimed at promoting social inclusion post discharge.
To work as a key member of the inpatient team, which provides mental health services to the patient group and their families. To be able to respond to service needs and support the team and service users, supporting them to work collaboratively in their treatment, recovery and discharge planning.
The Support Time and Recovery workers work closely with the Nursing Team, Social Work and Occupational Therapy team to plan and co-ordinate a programme of therapeutic activities both on and off the ward. You will involve other staff and service users in facilitating and co-facilitating these activities in accordance with best practice.
The successful applicants must be excellent communicators and motivators, know how to use time effectively, be empathetic, compassionate. The applicants must be use their own initiative and work creatively to engage with others.

Person Specification
- NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent
- NVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent
Understanding of recovery
- Identifiable knowledge of recovery and mental health in later life
- Knowledge and awareness of care planning and supporting discharge
- Good knowledge of Safeguarding Procedures
- Understanding of risk management and care planning process
