We are looking for a Global Industry Sector Specialist, based in London, Munich, Chicago, New York or Toronto.

Team

You will join the Global Property Line of Business within the CUO organization – a highly‑expertise, globally connected team that shapes the direction of Allianz Commercial’s Large Corporate Property portfolio. You will collaborate closely with Regional Property Leaders, Industry Sector Specialists, Underwriting Governance teams, Product Development, Claims, Operations and the broader CUO community to ensure technical excellence, portfolio strength and a market‑leading value proposition for global Property clients.

Impact

In this role you will translate global strategy into actionable underwriting approaches across industry sectors, directly influencing portfolio performance and profitable growth. You will help balance, price and govern a global Property portfolio while driving innovation in product development, improving underwriting practices and strengthening Allianz Commercial’s position in complex, high‑challenge industries.

Responsibilities

  • Translate Global LoB strategy into defined industry‑sector underwriting strategies and drive their implementation.
  • Develop and execute global underwriting frameworks, including business appetite, authority structures and governance standards.
  • Steer and monitor the global Property portfolio to ensure balance, profitability and adherence to financial targets such as the combined ratio.
  • Identify market trends, loss developments and emerging risks to refine underwriting strategies and guidelines.
  • Lead and contribute to product development initiatives, including pricing tools, frameworks and process improvements.
  • Support new business acquisition and retention through collaboration with regional teams and key stakeholders.
  • Represent Property in internal and external meetings, workshops and training sessions as a subject‑matter expert.
  • Drive best‑practice sharing, communication and capability development across regions and functions.
  • Collaborate with Claims, Operations and other functions to strengthen the overall underwriting value chain.

Qualifications

  • Strong expertise in property underwriting, risk assessment, portfolio management and underwriting governance.
  • Deep industry knowledge across complex or high‑risk sectors (e.g., semiconductors or similar).
  • Proven ability to translate strategy into execution and drive initiatives in a global, matrixed environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and a good understanding of market trends, claims developments and portfolio dynamics.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Experience in change management, training and knowledge sharing across diverse teams.
  • Strong relationship‑building skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and regions.
  • Fluency in English and confidence operating in an international environment.

Compensation

United States: Annualised base pay range $154,080 – $271,536. Base salary is one component of the total compensation package, which may include annual performance‑based cash incentive awards.

Canada: Annualised base pay range $143,920 – $217,488 CAD. The base salary is one component of the total compensation package, which may include a target bonus of 25% and other performance‑based cash incentive awards.
