Credit Controller

HX is a purpose‑led explorer company dedicated to sustainable expedition experiences worldwide. As a Credit Controller, you will manage credit control, ensuring timely cash allocation to customer accounts, and escalating issues where necessary while reporting to the Accounts Receivable Manager.

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables

  • Timely preparation and distribution of monthly travel agent statements.
  • Proactively chase travel agents and direct customers for overdue payments via email and phone.
  • Build and maintain effective, user‑friendly working relationships with internal and external partners to manage debtors.
  • Handle inbound emails for the Accounts Receivable team and respond to internal/external queries.
  • Assist with month‑end close processes and internal reporting.
  • Support prompt allocation of cash to customer accounts.
  • Assist with incoming bank reconciliations when required.
  • Help maintain Credit Collection policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the external audit process.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Fluency in English is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years credit control experience, with a solid grounding in accounting procedures.
  • Studying toward an accountancy qualification is a plus but not essential.
  • Basic accounting processing and reconciliation skills.
  • Experience in the maritime, expedition, or cruise industry is beneficial.
  • Tech‑forward and adaptable, with a proven ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
  • Experience working in a multi‑national organisation with a global guest mix.
