Associate MEP Cost Manager – Data Centres

Ideally Southeast with hybrid. £75-100k DOE.

Kenton Black International is supporting a leading consultancy in the expansion of their UK Data Centre Cost Management team. Opportunities exist for degree qualified Associate MEP Cost Managers to work on a range of high profile Data Centre clients.

We’re keen to hear from people with a strong consultancy background and a proven track record of delivering high quality MEP cost management/quantity surveying/scheduling across the full lifecycle of schemes. Applicants should ideally have strong client‑facing skills and a varied project background; airport, data centres, hi‑tech manufacturing, BESS, and logistics experience will be of particular interest.

Responsibilities

  • Pre- and post‑contract duties, including preparation of cost estimates, RFPs, procurement and tendering, contract administration, variation, final account, etc.
  • Completing feasibility studies and writing procurement reports.
  • Estimating and cost planning to include producing and presenting the final cost plan.
  • Tendering and procurement activity, including managing the pre‑qualification stage, producing the tender list, preliminaries, tender analysis, tender report and compiling the contractual documents.
  • Taking responsibility for timely and accurate cost checks and valuations.
  • Producing monthly post‑contract cost reports and presenting them to the client.
  • Interfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stages.
  • Participating effectively with post‑contract cost variances and the change control processes.
  • Performing cost risk analysis and providing input into value engineering; negotiating and approving final accounts.
  • Maintaining central feedback and learning on cost estimating from prospects and projects and contributing to updating of best practices in estimating.

Ideal Candidate

  • Educated to degree level, ideally in Quantity Surveying (essential).
  • From a consultancy background (essential).
  • MRICS (essential).
  • Strong MEP experience (essential).
  • Client‑facing/stakeholder management experience (essential).
