Please note: at this stage, the role is open only to colleagues currently employed within Kent and Medway NHS Trusts, the Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board (ICB) and Medway Community Healthcare. Nursing vacancies are also open to Student Nurses and Newly Qualified Nurses.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised Specialty Doctor to join our professional Community Paediatrics Team.

Main duties of the job

Use your skills and experience to support the NHS to deliver great patient care. Provide support to our frontline NHS teams, deliver excellent patient care, and contribute to the outstanding experience our patients and service users have every day.

Job responsibilities

Community Trust role may require driving. Confirm full UK driving licence or EU licence if required. Provide support for community paediatric clinical teams.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • Full GMC registration
  • Medical Degree, MBBS or equivalent
  • Post graduate qualification e.g. MRCPCH, MSc, DCH, DCCH, MBA or other relevant diplomas

Experience

  • Paediatric experience
  • Community paediatric experience
  • Specialist experience/training in community paediatrics
  • Experience in other areas relevant to child health e.g. general practice, child mental health, obstetrics, public health
  • Specialist experience in one or more areas of practice; ADHD, ASD, Looked after children, Audio vestibular medicine, Adoption

Knowledge

  • Willingness to work independently, awareness of limitations
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to work with other health professionals
  • Experience of working with a multidisciplinary team
  • Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised and make decisions
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a multidisciplinary team e.g. in project work
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively e.g. report writing

Skills

  • Excellent clinical skills within area of speciality
  • Ability to work effectively with a variety of people at all organisational levels across different sectors including areas of social deprivation
  • Ability to communicate complex, sensitive information to individuals and groups
  • Ability to use a range of IT programmes including PowerPoint, Word and Excel
  • Highly developed facilitation skills

  • Capacity to handle conflict and remain calm under pressure
  • Flexible approach to working arrangements including remote access, significant travel across the County and occasional travel to other UK cities.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to maintaining professional skills and knowledge relevant to the job.

  • Meets professional health requirements in line with GMC standards in Good Medical Practice

Salary

£61,542 to £99,216 a year (pro rata).
