Cleveland Clinic London are recruiting a Senior Clinical Pharmacist – Oncology to join our Pharmacy team, with a salary from £63,000 onwards depending on experience.
While our Oncology Centre is in development, a Senior Clinical Pharmacist with experience in Oncology is needed to help establish guidelines, policies and protocols ahead of opening. During this phase, working hours will be mutually agreed between the Lead Pharmacist – Oncology and the postholder.
As the oncology service develops, the postholder will transition into a clinical, patient‑facing role. Working patterns will evolve in line with service requirements, and the postholder will be expected to adapt to support the expanding oncology pharmacy team, including overtime, on‑call, night and weekend working where required.
What will your duties include?
- Contribute to the development and implementation of pharmacy service standards, guidelines and care pathways relevant to oncology.
- Support the introduction of new medicines, commissioning decisions and treatment protocols in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
- Lead the day‑to‑day clinical pharmacy service to oncology and haematology patients across inpatient wards, the chemotherapy day unit and outpatient clinics.
- Act as an authorised pharmacist in the pharmacy aseptic unit, undertaking prescription validation and release of chemotherapy, biological and CIVAS products.
- Develop and maintain up‑to‑date oncology pharmaceutical guidelines, protocols and Patient Group Directions.
What we need from you?
- Completion of a master’s degree in pharmacy (or equivalent) (essential).
- Postgraduate clinical diploma in clinical pharmacy (hospital) or equivalent experience (essential).
- Full registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) (essential).
- BOPA passport – level 2c adult solid tumour and haematology modules (desirable).
- Significant experience in oncology and/or haematology pharmacy (essential).
- Experience of clinical verification of SACT prescriptions (essential).
