Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Audiologist to join our team as a Band 5 Audiologist at Queen Elizabeth Hospital where the post holder will assess and rehabilitate patients attending for hearing assessment. Audiology runs specialist clinics and offers opportunities to work alongside staff dealing with tinnitus, vestibular and hearing implant patients.
As a clinician contributing to patient care with complex hearing needs, you will work autonomously with a wide variety of patients and develop your career in partnership with clinical experts in Audiology.
The successful candidate will possess a BSc/PTP qualification or equivalent and will be registered with RCCP or HCPC. We seek compassionate candidates who adapt in modern healthcare systems. Main Duties
The post holder will work autonomously to assess, manage, and support patients with hearing difficulties, including diagnostic assessment, rehabilitation, fitting hearing aids, and supporting shared decision‑making. The role includes follow‑up care for existing patients, repairs of hearing aids and implantable devices, contribution to service development, quality assurance, continuous improvement and innovation, and adherence to policies, procedures and professional codes.

Person Specification
Qualifications
- BSc/PTP in Audiology (or equivalent)
- Registered with RCCP/HCPC/AHCS/HAD
Experience
- Supervised clinical audiology training
- Experience with patients with hearing difficulties
- Knowledge of methods for evaluating hearing, balance and tinnitus
- Experience fitting hearing aids and knowledge of current technology and verification techniques
- Understanding of hearing impairment impact on quality of life
- Knowledge of hearing pathologies, otoscopic examination and interpretation
- Knowledge of national Audiological guidance
Additional Criteria
- Ability to undertake evaluation and rehabilitation without supervision and create treatment plans
- Ability to programme and evaluate hearing aid fittings
- Ability to counsel patients on treatment options
- Good manual dexterity, organisational, communication (verbal and written), IT skills, time management
- Effective team worker, working with others, mobile across UHB sites
