Responsibilities
The post holder will work as an autonomous practitioner primarily within the Flow Centre, Outpatients and Associated Services but will also rotate through the Emergency Department, RIE and the Same Day Emergency Service, WGH as part of an acute services redesign of the Urgent Care model. Responsibilities include ensuring the highest standard of care is delivered to patients across Lothian, providing expert clinical assessment and advice, leading specialist education and training programmes for health care professionals, and undertaking research activities to support evidence‑based practice in the specialist area.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Must hold a valid PVG Scheme membership/record (child and/or adult regulatory group).
- Must have the relevant permission to work in the United Kingdom.
- Experience as an autonomous practitioner within urgent care or similar settings.
- Strong ability to conduct assessment, triage, initial management and ongoing referral of patients.
- Commitment to evidence‑based practice and research activities.
