Permanent – Band 7 – 36 hours (full time) – Allied Health Profession – Department of Dietetics – NHS Lothian

Job Summary

The Advanced Dietitian will provide specialist dietetic care to patients with complex neurological conditions across the Acute Dietetic Service at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. The role involves assessment, treatment and management of highly complex patients, including those with polytrauma, amputations, spinal cord injury and traumatic brain injury within the Major Trauma pathway.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide dietetic service to patients with complex neurological conditions.
  • Lead assessment, treatment and management of highly complex patients.
  • Supervise staff, provide clinical leadership and support operational functions.
  • Participate in student training and contribute to research, audit and broader service development.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experienced dietitian with interest and experience in Neuroscience.
  • Compliance with PVG Scheme membership or need to apply for a regulated role.
  • Ability to work as part of a dedicated team to deliver high‑quality care.
