Installation and Commissioning Engineer

Derby base – UK coverage.

Salary: up to £55k, net dependent on experience, plus generous benefits, overtime, pension and bonus schemes.

Our Derby‑based client, established for over 30 years, is a market leader in delivering integrated control system solutions, primarily to the transportation, airport and power infrastructure industries. With ongoing strategic growth, they are recruiting experienced Installation and Commissioning Engineers to join a successful team of electrical and control professionals.

Responsibilities

• Check that equipment is installed to the correct standard before testing.
• Perform system testing according to the Installation and Commissioning Test document.
• Conduct PLC data input tests, verifying operation to and from plant and field devices into PLCs.
• Set up field devices.
• Perform site acceptance tests, locate faults, and correct any PLC code or wiring issues.
• Produce documentation including RAMs, test documentation, weekly progress reports, etc.
• Attend site progress meetings, toolbox talks, and represent the business professionally during client‑facing test conditions.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of relevant commissioning work experience.
• Qualified to at least HND level or above in electrical or control engineering.
• Full UK driving licence.
• EDU/EEA/Swiss passport (required for working in Europe).
• No criminal convictions, as required for airport authority security clearances.
