Job Description:

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join Engine Overhaul Services (EOS) as a Manufacturing Engineer (ME). As a critical member of the EOS team, you will provide overhaul capability support to the EOS Operations Team for engines and modules strip and build processes, supporting New Product Introduction (NPI), legacy and current engine programs. Your outward focus will include the Trent1000 (PackB&C),1000‑TEN,7000,XWB (84k&97k) and beyond.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to operations and execute Manufacturing Engineering activities to develop, maintain and continuously improve manufacturing processes and/or methods of manufacture, ensuring safety, quality, cost, delivery rate and lead‑time (SQCD) requirements are met.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes are fully compliant with Health, Safety & Environmental Standards and the Zero Harm programme.
  • Ensure processes achieve and sustain the design definition; verify that products and suppliers conform to specifications.
  • Rigourously raise, investigate and resolve safety‑related issues and drive a culture of zero defects.
  • Work with all functions to reduce risk and deliver products right‑first‑time.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant company, legislative and technical policies and standards including RRMS, SABRe and Export Control and Intellectual Property.
  • Apply manufacturing process controls within the area of accountability, with authorisation subject to delegation, and act as MEA or PCA signatory where applicable.
  • Identify and develop opportunities for new or improved manufacturing processes, digital systems and technologies to meet current or future requirements.
  • Plan and manage activities, including schedule, resources and costs; obtain buy‑off and communicate status to stakeholders.
  • Resolve issues and risks to meet project timelines.
  • Develop, implement, validate, maintain and continuously improve manufacturing processes, digital systems and methods of manufacture for safety, quality, cost, delivery rate and lead‑time.
  • Capture, analyse and use data to demonstrate and improve current and future manufacturing capability.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering Commodity Leaders and Manufacturing Process Owners to drive processes toward consistent best practice.
  • Work with interfacing teams and local experts to ensure technical aspects of manufacturing processes and digital systems are understood and accounted for.
  • Capture and utilise lessons learned; identify, document and share best practice via Communities of Practice.
  • Maintain self‑development to meet required competencies and expand knowledge for effectiveness in existing and new activities.
  • Provide coaching and technical support to others within competent areas.
  • Operate beneficial relationships with partners and suppliers to enable delivery of their objectives.

Qualifications

  • Professionally Qualified Engineer (e.g., UK minimum HND/foundation degree or national equivalent).
  • Recognised national or international engineering accreditation (e.g., UK IEng or CEng) where available.
  • General understanding of manufacturing processes relevant to the business.
  • General awareness of manufacturing systems and enabling software tools.
  • Understanding of manufacturing engineering processes relevant to the role.
  • High level of self‑motivation, flexibility and ability to work independently and within a multi‑skilled team.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to operate in an ambiguous environment and cope with change.
