Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Continuous Improvement (CI)

Location: RG7 4PR & RG30 3RR (between Reading and Basingstoke) – free on‑site parking available.Closing date: 11th June 2026.Package: £49,480 – £55,000 + allowance (depends on experience).Working pattern: 9‑day working fortnight; flexible working arrangements may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Support and advance manufacturing systems for the deterrent through continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify, develop and implement innovative working methods, partnering with design, technical, and operations teams.
  • Lead and manage continuous improvement projects from planning to validation (Plan‑Do‑Check‑Act).

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in a manufacturing or operational environment.
  • Proven track record in supporting production capabilities, managing non‑conformance, and deploying Lean manufacturing tools and techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Value Stream Mapping, Statistical Process Control, Continuous Improvement, Quality Tools, Total Productive Maintenance, Obsolescence Management, and Model‑Based Engineering.
  • Skilled in process and manufacturing documentation, including MRP/ERP systems, route cards, technical instructions, and SOPs.
  • Experience with problem‑investigation tools such as PFMEAs, control plans, root‑cause analysis, A3, and the 5‑whys method.
  • Understanding of configuration‑management tools and digital manufacturing support.
  • Proficient in engineering change and transformation management within a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Willingness to obtain and maintain the security clearance required for the role.
  • British citizenship or eligibility for UK citizenship (resident for the past 5 years for SC clearance, 10 years for DV).
