Senior Product Test Design Engineer

Overview

Senior Test Development Engineer – Glenrothes, Scotland; Livingston, Scotland; or Harlow, Essex. Join RTX, the world’s largest aerospace and defence company, to design, manufacture, verify, validate and support the lifecycle of test equipment for electronic systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop functional test equipment for electronic systems
• Lead and support hardware/software integration and troubleshooting
• Provide lifecycle and production support, including issue resolution and obsolescence management
• Collaborate across engineering disciplines to develop robust, scalable test solutions
• Lead design reviews and documentation to the highest standards
• Act as a mentor and technical leader for junior engineers

Qualifications

• Experience in the design of product test development hardware and wiring schedules
• System interface design and appreciation of NI LabView/Teststand
• Ability to write comprehensive technical design documentation
• Proven experience in handover and management of designs in production
• Excellent hardware troubleshooting skills and ability to support/debug system integration
• Minimum security clearance of BPSS (eligible for security clearance)

Desired Experience

• Significant test development experience in industry
• Understanding of common test architectures PXI/LXI
• Measurement uncertainty and its application in test equipment design and validation
• Software detailed knowledge of NI LabView, CVI & TestStand, and C#
