Lead Mechanical Project Manager

1st Step Solutions are supporting a leading M&E Contractor who have an opportunity for an Mechanical Project Lead to be Project based in Bristol up to eight years.
To be successful in this role, you will have a proven track record in project management, particularly within the commercial sector or similar related projects with values up to £50M. Ideally, you will have experience of demonstrating responsibility for full Contract Management at this level.
Responsibilities
- Develop, control, and ensure delivery against the project budgets including profit, preliminaries and procurement.
- Implement detailed programmes and schedules which allow accurate monitoring and reporting of progress.
- Secure and manage the appropriate resources to deliver the project / scheme effectively and efficiently in a professional manner to ensure successful delivery within project constraints.
- Implement and manage the development of the Project Quality Plan, Trade Quality Plans, and Defect rectification procedures.
- Ensure there is a successful and smooth handover of the project, including support to customer/ end user throughout the handover process.
Requirements
- CSCS/SMSTS.
- Mechanical Qualifications / an industry relevant City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 or above.
- HNC/HND in Building Services Engineering desirable.
- Experience of working at a senior level on M&E projects, as well as ideally having had responsibility for full contract management.
- Effective communicator at all levels.
- Capability to accept responsibilities and accomplish project objectives in a timely manner.
- Good computer skills especially with Microsoft Office.
- Be aware of health and safety requirements and the continual assessment/control of risk.
- Able to develop and maintain good working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
