Overview

MBDA is seeking a The Test Equipment Cyber Security Engineer to deliver specialist cyber‑security solutions across the Test Equipment Centre of Excellence. The role involves providing documentation and evidence to support security approval and accreditation activities within the programme context.

Salary: £40,000 – £55,000, depending on experience.

Dynamic (hybrid) working: accommodation will be made for a blended approach to on‑site and remote working based on project needs.

Security Clearance: applicants must be a British citizen or a dual UK citizen with British citizenship. Successful candidates will be required to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS) after offer.

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist cyber‑security support across the Test Equipment Centre of Excellence domain.
  • Deliver effective information security solutions for test equipment and associated product under test.
  • Prepare documentation and evidence to support security approval and accreditation activities within the programme context.
  • Generate information security risk assessments, risk treatment plans, and accreditation documents.
  • Apply MOD and Government information security policy, standards and guidance, tailoring them to the specific needs of our weapon system product range.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the development lifecycle.
  • Contribute to cost, schedule, and technical performance trade‑offs within cyber‑security requirements.

Qualifications

  • Experience in developing complex test systems, including hardware and software integration.
  • Experience in product or systems development lifecycle.
  • Experience with information security risk assessments and accreditation processes.
  • Knowledge and understanding of MOD and Government information security policy, standards and guidance.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering, electronics principles, software technology and development principles.
  • Preferably exposure to cyber‑security across the systems engineering and development lifecycle.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage a range of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance cost, schedule and technical performance trade‑offs in cyber‑security contexts.
