The Opportunity

This role is part of Ashurst’s UK/EMEA People & Culture (P&C) business partnering team and supports the firm by providing advice, coaching and support across a broad range of P&C matters across the employee lifecycle.

Working in collaboration with P&C divisional leads, function heads and Global P&C Centres of Excellence, the role focuses on enabling partners and business leaders in London and Glasgow to effectively manage and support their people, fostering employee engagement, wellbeing, and a high‑performing inclusive culture.

This is a full‑time, permanent role based in our Glasgow office with hybrid working. Frequent travel to London will be required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide operational and strategic business partnering to a dedicated client group and respective Practice Heads/Partners in the London and Glasgow offices.
  • Advise, coach and support partners/business leaders on a broad range of P&C matters spanning the employee lifecycle.
  • Enable partners to manage and support people, develop and retain talent, and promote employee engagement and wellbeing.
  • Accountable for the delivery of programs and initiatives aligned to P&C and business area strategy.
  • Support large‑scale change programmes across the firm and collaborate with the P&C partnering team, wider P&C function and key stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience in business partnering at a senior stakeholder level, navigating complexity and ambiguity, and delivering change and transformation programmes in a fast‑paced, complex professional services environment.
  • Strengths in Employee Relations and a good understanding of the wider People & Culture functions (Reward & Benefits, Learning & Organisational Development, Talent Acquisition, Resourcing etc).
  • Demonstrable experience supporting a tech workforce.
  • Strategic, operational and creative thinking with a down‑to‑earth, pragmatic approach to people solutions.
  • Superior stakeholder management – ability to act as a trusted advisor to Practice Heads and leadership teams, coaching and developing capability, demonstrating confidence, resilience and maturity to challenge and push back as required.
  • Experience working in a fast‑paced, changing work environment.
