- Salary: Circa £40,000 (depending on experience)

About You
Are you an experienced and highly organised professional with a strong background in food safety and health & safety? We are looking for someone who enjoys working independently, managing client relationships, and providing practical, solutions-focused advice.
This role may be particularly suited to:
- Experienced Environmental Health Officers looking to move into or progress within consultancy
- Senior Food Safety or Health & Safety professionals seeking a varied, client-facing role
- Professionals currently working in local authority environmental health, consultancy, or regulatory compliance roles
- Individuals looking to take ownership of client relationships and deliver strategic compliance support
What We’re Looking For
In this senior role, you will leverage your technical expertise to deliver tailored, practical solutions to our clients. You will provide expert consultancy across food safety and health & safety disciplines, helping organisations maintain regulatory compliance, improve safety culture, and implement robust management systems.
This role offers autonomy, responsibility, and variety, working with a range of businesses while delivering high-quality auditing, advisory, and training support.
You should ideally have:
- BSc Environmental Health or Higher Certificate in Food Safety
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent health & safety qualification
- Membership or Chartered status with IOSH or CIEH (highly advantageous)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in food safety, health & safety, or a similar consultancy/regulatory role
- Strong knowledge of UK food safety regulations and health & safety legislation
- Experience of developing health and safety management systems, food safety policy manuals and HACCP’S
- Excellent communication and report writing skills
- Proven ability to manage your own workload and client portfolio
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across Central Scotland (with occasional overnight stays)
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site compliance audits
- Manage a portfolio of key client accounts, building strong and trusted relationships
- Carry out food supplier assessments
- Conduct contractor competency assessments
- Complete strategic compliance reviews
- Provide guidance, training, coaching, and support to client teams
- Support the implementation of corrective actions following audits
- Develop and review food safety management systems, H&S manuals, and policies
- Design and deliver bespoke training programmes tailored to client needs
- Provide technical support to clients, including liaison with enforcement authorities
- Undertake food complaint investigations on behalf of clients
