Team & Role
The Actuarial Systems Team (AST) supports actuarial functions worldwide and works with the broader business to explore emerging technologies. We seek an experienced professional to lead a specialised testing sub‑team.
Responsibilities
- Support the model development team and business consumers by maintaining and enhancing a robust set of testing tools and processes.
- Perform and document a rigorous regime of functional and non‑functional model testing.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key users and stakeholders.
- Oversee or manage junior team members, including supporting and monitoring their development needs.
- Identify and prioritise high‑value outcomes in the context of competing priorities and time/resource/design constraints.
- Conduct active independent / peer reviews and challenge across all AST activities.
- Contribute proactively to AST team management and strategic objectives beyond day‑to‑day duties.
Qualifications & Experience
- Qualified or partly‑qualified actuary with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in life insurance or life reinsurance.
- Experience using Prophet, RiskAgility FM, Tyche or similar modelling platforms, and understanding of their benefits and limitations.
- Experience with Atlassian suite, including Zephyr, or other test‑management applications.
- Understanding of Life, CI, IP and Annuity/Longevity insurance products and the actuarial concepts underpinning core model calculations.
- Demonstrated interest in a long‑term actuarial modelling / testing role.
- Advanced understanding of Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to build and manage relationships with stakeholders.
- Forward‑looking mindset, ability to anticipate future needs.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to plan, prioritise workloads, and deliver to deadlines.
- Coaching experience and ability to manage across multiple locations and time zones.
- Ability to challenge and enhance processes within a culture of continuous improvement.
