Job description

Directorate: Adult Care, Housing & Public Health

Permanent, Full time, 37 hours per week

It couldn’t be a more important and exciting time to join the team at Rotherham. We built our first council homes in 1919, and now we are one of the largest providers of Council housing in the country – with 20,000 homes, and a programme in place to build hundreds more.

The Council is proud of its record of providing safe, decent, good quality homes for residents. We have a healthy investment programme in place and well-performing cyclical maintenance and compliance functions, with high levels of decency and a growing number of homes achieving EPC C. For this role, we need an experienced housing professional to manage our building safety and compliance functions.

Reporting to the Head of Housing Property Services, you will be responsible for housing property compliance supported by a high performing, experienced compliance team. You will ensure that our housing stock is compliant in line with regulatory and legislative requirements and with Council objectives. You will play a key role in assuring our tenants, the Senior Leadership Team and Cabinet on compliance with the Regulator’s Safety and Quality Standard.

To be considered for this role it is essential that you have extensive experience and knowledge of social housing compliance and demonstrable experience of managing staff.

We offer a comprehensive reward package which includes flexible working patterns and generous holiday entitlement.

For further details about this role, please contact Lynsey Stephenson, Head of Housing Property Services via email lynsey.stephenson@rotherham.gov.uk

This post will have access to the Public Services Network, if successful you will be required to apply for a disclosure of criminal records check at the Basic level (unspent criminal convictions).

Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council is committed to encouraging equality, diversity and inclusion among our workforce, and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative of all sections of society and our customers, and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. As a Disability Confident employer, we will ensure that a fair and proportionate number of disabled applicants that meet the minimum criteria for this position will be offered an interview.
