IT Release & Environments Lead

Overview

We are seeking an IT Release & Environments Lead to join our insurance client’s IT team. Reporting to the Infrastructure Delivery Manager, you will ensure Production and Non-Production Environments (Dev, Test, Integration, E2E) are effectively managed, governed, and fit for purpose for use by development, testing, data, business-as-usual, and project teams.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with development, testing, infrastructure, and delivery teams to define environment requirements at each stage of the lifecycle




• Champion FinOps practices to manage and optimise infrastructure spend




• Develop and maintain environment reporting and documentation




• Coordinate the delivery of environments across development, testing, integration, and production




• Work with technical specialists to define and document best practice standards




• Support continuous improvement, including automation, new tools, and technology upgrades




• Provide release management support and consultation to teams, service providers, and vendors

Skills & experience

• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)




• Experience in cloud cost monitoring and optimisation is desirable




• Understanding of IT release and environment management best practices (or willingness to learn)




• Strong communication and collaboration skills




• Able to commute to London 2-3 times per week (if more, then ideal)
