Associate Director – Legal Recruitment – London, City & West End
Construction Associate (Energy & Infrastructure) | 2 – 5 PQE | City of London
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a construction associate with 2-5 years’ PQE to join the highly regarded Energy & Infrastructure team at a leading international firm. This role sits within the construction group, focusing primarily on non-contentious matters in the renewables sector.
The opportunity
The team is looking to hire a technically strong and commercially astute associate to support on a broad range of construction and O&M aspects of renewable energy projects.
Working directly with senior members of the team, including a London-based partner and a senior associate, you will gain exceptional exposure to high-profile and complex international mandates.
The successful candidate will play an integral role in advising on major projects globally, including Europe, Asia, and the US.
This is an excellent opportunity for an associate looking to deepen their specialism in the renewables sector, with particular emphasis on offshore wind and energy transition projects.
What they’re looking for:
The ideal candidate will have:
- 2-5 years’ post-qualification experience in construction law (non-contentious).
- Strong drafting experience of FIDIC contracts – this is essential.
- Experience advising on Construction and O&M aspects of renewables projects.
- Offshore wind experience is highly desirable.
- Exposure to oil & gas projects, with a desire to transition into renewables, will be considered.
- Additional experience with marine agreements (BIMCO and LOGIC) would be advantageous.
- Strong academic background.
- Training from a leading international, Magic Circle, Silver Circle or US firm.

The construction team operates as part of the wider Energy & Infrastructure practice, which also covers project finance, M&A and real estate.

Location and working pattern
The role is based in London, with a hybrid working arrangement:
- Three days in the office with flexibility to work remotely for two days each week.
Remuneration
Highly competitive salary + bonus and benefits. (To give a steer on what salary you can achieve at the level of experience this role is aimed at, NQs at this firm are paid £160,000 PA).
