SAP S/4HANA PP Senior Consultant

Location: Home-based (UK) with travel to client sites

Security & Vetting: This role requires eligibility to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC). Candidates must be British nationals and have been resident in the UK for the last 5 years, with no periods of absence exceeding 3 months at a time.

Role Overview

A leading global technology services organisation is seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA Production Planning (PP) Senior Consultant to design and deliver next-generation manufacturing and supply chain solutions across complex SAP transformation programmes.

This is a senior role within a UK-based SAP Consulting and Delivery function, focused on delivering high-value SAP S/4HANA PP and Production Execution (PE) solutions and guiding clients through large-scale business and technology change.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of SAP S/4HANA Production Planning (PP) and Production Execution (PE) solutions across multiple industry sectors
• Own solution design across Make-to-Stock, Make-to-Order, Repetitive, and Discrete manufacturing scenarios
• Facilitate discovery and design workshops with production managers, planners, and supply chain leaders to define target operating models
• Define and manage integration points with SAP MM, SD, QM, WM/EWM, IBP, and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
• Drive adoption of S/4HANA innovations including MRP Live, Advanced Planning, Production Scheduling Board, and Embedded Analytics
• Support pre-sales activities including RFP/RFI responses, solution demonstrations, and effort estimation for manufacturing-led SAP transformations
• Contribute to industry-specific solution templates and reusable accelerators (e.g. automotive, industrial manufacturing, consumer goods)
• Collaborate with technical architects, data migration teams, and change management specialists to ensure holistic delivery outcomes
• Lead and mentor functional consultants while supporting clients through business process enablement and deployment planning

Required Experience

• Extensive SAP consulting experience with deep functional expertise in SAP PP and related modules
• Delivery experience across at least two full-cycle SAP S/4HANA implementations (greenfield and/or brownfield) in manufacturing environments, including at least one greenfield global rollout
• Strong hands-on experience with S/4HANA Production Planning, Demand Management, Shop Floor Control, MRP Live, and Work Centre/Resource modelling
• Experience integrating SAP PP with MES platforms via PI/PO, MII, or third-party manufacturing systems
• Proven leadership of SAP workstreams or cross-functional manufacturing solutions within a consulting or systems integration environment
• Demonstrated capability in pre-sales solutioning, particularly for manufacturing-led S/4HANA programmes

Technical & Functional Skills

• In-depth configuration knowledge of SAP PP, including MRP, Routings/BOMs, Production Orders, Capacity Planning, and Demand Management
• Strong understanding of integration touchpoints with SAP MM, SD, QM, PM, and MES interfaces
• Familiarity with SAP Fiori applications for shop floor operations and embedded analytics for production KPIs
• Exposure to SAP IBP, PP/DS, or advanced scheduling tools is highly desirable
• Awareness of manufacturing industry standards and regulatory frameworks (e.g. GMP, ISO)

Stakeholder & Soft Skills

• Strong engagement capability with senior manufacturing stakeholders, including Heads of Production, Plant Managers, and executive leadership
• Ability to translate complex operational processes into streamlined, SAP-enabled solutions
• Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills, with confidence engaging at C-suite level
• Experience mentoring junior consultants and driving delivery excellence across diverse teams

Methodologies & Tools

• Proven experience delivering SAP programmes using SAP Activate and agile methodologies
• Hands-on use of tools such as Signavio, SAP Solution Manager, JIRA, and Confluence
• Familiarity with DevOps-based delivery models within SAP S/4HANA environments

Qualifications & Certifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or Information Systems
• SAP Certified Application Associate – SAP S/4HANA Manufacturing for Production Planning and Control
• TOGAF, ITIL, or similar framework certifications are advantageous
