About the opportunity

At this exciting time when Lloyds Banking Group is starting to adopt AI at scale, we are seeking a thought leader in responsible AI to join our AI Centre of Excellence in the Chief Data and Analytics Office. The role will play a key role in defining the standard to which Lloyds Banking Group governs, deploys and uses AI, tracking the latest best practices in responsible AI.

The role will bring functions together, embedding best practices across the Group and enabling the Business. This role is essential in ensuring the Group operates with integrity, transparency, and in accordance with regulatory and societal expectations.

Your work will inform the Group’s AI strategy. You’ll be expected to act as a transformative leader, with a strong vision, promoting a culture of safe and ethical AI throughout the organisation, providing thought leadership, and advising senior leaders on standards and responsible AI tooling.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate leadership on AI governance and AI ethics, shaping Lloyds Banking Group’s standard of responsible AI adoption.
  • Find opportunities and offer assistance to integrate outstanding responsible AI approaches into governance and AI development workflows, collaborating closely with both the Business and 2nd Line.
  • Accelerate the responsible development and deployment of key AI use cases, including AI agents.
  • Drive and evolve the Group’s AI Assurance Framework and associated tooling.
  • Be a thought leader on ethical standards in AI deployment.

What you’ll need

  • Proven experience in Responsible AI or AI ethics, including directly engaging with AI product teams.
  • Extensive knowledge of emerging global AI regulatory standards and frameworks.
  • Stellar problem-solving and risk identification/mitigation skills in business contexts.
  • Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to influence senior partners and course correct initiatives towards strategic outcomes.
  • Experience in programme/project management.
