Location

Salary
Up to £78,000 per annum (hourly rate £35.53 per hour). Average 42 hours per week, shift pattern 12‑hour shifts rotating 4‑on 4‑off.
Duty Schedule
24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The role holds a 12‑hour shift, on a 4‑on 4‑off rotation, including days, nights, weekends and bank holidays.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain situational awareness and coordinate tactical responses via the Emergency Control Centre (EmCC).
- Lead and manage the Emergency Shift Manager (ESM) team, ensuring procedures align with licence condition LC 11 – On‑site Emergency Arrangements Lead.
- Coordinate subject‑matter experts, manage incident information flow from SCR, operational management and external specialists.
- Focus on tactical responses, recovery, and documentation, ensuring decisions comply with statutory responsibilities for health, safety, human rights, data protection and welfare.
- Ensure statutory responsibilities are met, support recovery, restore essential services, and maintain clear audit trail through decision logs.
- Debrief incident controllers and operational commanders, share interoperability issues and drive Joint Organisational Learning (JOL).
- Maintain profiles of Suitably Qualified and Experienced Persons (SQEP) for EmCC specialists.

Profile / Educational Requirements
- Degree in Crisis or Emergency Management (preferred but not essential).
- Degree‑level leadership and management experience (preferred).
- HSE Diploma and Emergency Planning College certifications (preferred).

- Professional leader with experience in corporate, CNI, uniformed services or heavy industrial environments.
- Experience leading teams in demanding environments.
- Track record of building strong, trust‑based relationships.
- Experience in training and mentoring.
- Proven experience in high‑tempo operational theatres.

Specific Occupational Requirements
- Pass and hold National Security Clearance Vetting (NSV SC).
