Job Description:

Purpose

To secure and convert full project specifications by effectively communicating a comprehensive product offering and clear competitive advantages to clients, architects, façade consultants, and main contractors. The role focuses on building and maintaining a strong project pipeline to support sustained customer base growth.

Main Duties

  • Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of specified projects by:
  • Identifying and targeting projects in suitable market sectors
  • Building long-term relationships with key stakeholders including specifiers, clients, architects, and contractors
  • Track projects across the full value chain, ensuring specification retention and successful conversion
  • Understand client needs, challenges, and objectives to deliver tailored solutions
  • Maintain strong technical knowledge of products/services and provide appropriate specification support
  • Produce high-quality project specifications (e.g. NBS) to protect project outcomes
  • Support regional sales leadership in expanding the customer network and project pipeline
  • Maintain accurate records of project activity and stakeholder engagement using CRM systems
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to identify growth opportunities
  • Represent the business at industry events, trade shows, and conferences

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Proven experience in specification sales within the façade or construction sector
  • Strong numerical and technical capability
  • Confident and engaging presenter
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and highly organised, with a results-driven approach
  • Ability to build long-term relationships and understand stakeholder challenges, offering tailored solutions
  • Strong team collaboration skills with the ability to build trust and respect across teams
  • Experience using CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce or similar)
  • Degree or HND in engineering, architecture, or a related discipline
  • Knowledge of UK regulations, sustainability standards, and market trends
  • Strategic, data-driven mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Resilient, with the ability to perform under pressure and adapt to challenges
